The Fridge has coded

10:17pm

I don't know yet whether or not we will be able to resuscitate it. It made a loud buzzing noise and then A found that the coil in the freezer was bright red and hot. In triage, we transferred contents to the mostly empty (fortunately) garage fridge. During the moment in which its life passed in front of its eyes, I realized that in fact, the freezer contained all kinds of goodies, including a bit more of summer 07 pesto, some macadamia nuts, bacon grease, and enough Parmesan cheese rinds to make the risotto I've been eyeing for more than a year.

The table is clear

It's a bit of a rarity around here, but the tables are clear. The floor is even clean. My youngest turns four this week, so it's bound to be a busy one, starting with two dozen cupcakes for preschool and ending with party cake over the weekend.

I've been battling a cold this week, the worst one I can remember in the last several years. It's rare that I feel lousy enough to skip a workout, or just sit on the couch. But sit on the couch, I have. The impressive result is the first part of this darling baby kimono that I am trying to complete in the next two weeks. It's still clearly handmade, but perhaps a bit better than "homemade"...

Just starting...

I became a serious blog follower only a few months ago. A friend's Christmas card letter sent me searching her blog, following her kids and aspiring to start my own. I've since added a number of others, coving topics from food to knitting, UM sports (go Blue!) and politics. I've read that many blogs are read only by the blogger and the blogger's mother, which might be one person too many.

Cheers!
